Hey gang,
Due to some things beyond our control there are some changes to the schedule. The Source will be having their huge Customer Appreciation sale on Saturday, Dec. 17th. Because of this we will be cancelling the game at the Source as there will be no room for our game. Right now we are looking at moving the game to Jeff Johnson's place and changing the game from 25mm Napoleonics to 15mm ACW.
In addition, the game on Jan. 21st is now tentative because of the Source's move to their new location. In talking to Bob of the Source one of three things will happen that day. We will either be playing at the old location (if there are tables) or we will be playing at the new location or we will be relocating. I will keep you informed.

Last game of the year is just announced
Hey gang,
Jeff and Gunther Johnson have claimed the last game day for 2011, Dec. 17th. They will be putting on a 25mm Napoleonics game of Horse, Musket, and Gun. Figures will be provided and all experience levels are welcome. Horse, Musket, and Gun is a new set of rules that Jeff has been working on for some time. They are easy to learn and quick to play. This promises to be a very entertaining game. Hope to see you there!

If you don’t already have it in your calendar The Seven Years War Convention is March 30th and 31st, 2012 in South Bend Indiana.
Batailles de l'Ancien Régime
After much gnashing of teeth and discussion we have decided to move forward with a Batailles de l'Ancien Régime (aka BAR) project, focusing on the series of wars which occur between 1737 and 1748. This includes a Russo-Austrian-Turkish War, King George’s War, the War of Jenkin’s Ear, the Silesian Wars amongst many other conflicts between the European Powers.
The project will works towards 1:10 figure to men ratios using 25mm Figures.
I have jumped in front of the bus and will be painting more Austrians, there is a rumor that someone is painting Turks; however Russians (and them bloody Cossacks) will be in short supply.
Just want to touch on a couple of quick subjects.

September Schedule
Hey gang,
Here's the schedule for September.
Sept. 3rd - 10mm TYW game - Field of Glory
11:00 am Source Comics & Games
This is Labor Day weekend and we'll see what happens.
Sept. 17 - 15mm Ancients - Field of Glory
Romans v. Carthage
11:00 am Source Comics and Games
For those that weren't able to make the game this weekend, you missed Show-and-Tell. Turns out that there are plenty of Punic troops laying around, both Doug and Noel stopped by to show off their Cartheginians. In addition, Doug has a sizeable collection of Republican Romans too. And Joe K. couldn't resist showing off his large collection of Seleucid troops. Looks like we are ready for a new period of Ancients.
As for the TYW period we should see some new armies come into play. Expect a larger Swedish presence and look for some actual Imperialists to show up at the next game. Should be interesting. I know that the game is slated for the Labor Day weekend but when we last ran a TYW game, which was on the 4th of July weekend, we had an amazing turnout. I hope that we can repeat that in September.
Hope you can make the games.

August Schedule is confirmed
Folks,
The August schedule has been confirmed. We will be doing a FoG game on the first weekend. Originally I had hoped to do a Punic-themed game but it was not to be, so we will be doing another EIR-themed game.
On the third weekend we will be playing SYW using Koenig Krieg. Tom Zwirn and Jeff Johnson are throwing this game together and questions about it are best addressed to them. This will be a central theater game but, as always, all forces are welcome.
Hope to see you at the games.

Game on Saturday, July 30th
Hey gang,
Elliott James has decided to add another Napoleonic Command game to the schedule this month. As you probably know by now he has had to roll his Misfits of Gaming group in with another, the Geek Partnership Society. This has brought him a number of advantages, including the use of their clubhouse. Included below are the specifics of Elliott's game:
"I'm going to be putting on another NC game on 7/30, sorry for the short notice.
Venue will be Geek Partnership Society,1121 Jackson Street NE Ste 105 & 135Mpls, MN 554413
Jackson is one street west of Central at Broadway. Jeff, this is the site I'm suggesting if we need a public/private venue away from the Source. If you can support I would be greatful.
Elliott"
Hope you can make it.

May Schedule
First, our normal game on the 7th will not be happening at the Source due to their Free Comic Book Day event. Free Comic Book Day happens on the first Saturday in May every year and I forget about it every year. Jeff Johnson wanted to put on a game that day and I have not heard if there will be a different venue for it yet. I will keep you informed.
Second, we will be playing 10mm TYW on the 21st. Due to the amount of troops that are in the works for the game it is impractical to try and run another game using Forlorn Hope at this time. So, given the success of the Field of Glory game on Apr. 18th, I am going to try using the FoG Renaissance rules for the game on the 21st. We had a lot of success with people picking up the rules very quickly for the Roman Civil War game and I am hoping that we will have the same success with the TYW period. Tom and I will be exploring options for the game as the TYW project has an odd basing system that will affect how the game is played.

Apr. 16th Game
This game will be our attempt at restarting Ancients for the group.
Tom Zwirn is putting the finishing touches on his 69 AD Roman Civil War plan and wants to put a game on the table this spring. This is the Year of the Four Emperors when civil war tears the Roman world apart and Vespasian would restore order. Tom has been working on several Principate period armies and will be using them to put on the game.
As always all experience levels are welcome and all figures will be provided. If you want to provide your own figures for the game Tom asks that you keep them to the period around 69 AD and the Roman Empire.

Upcoming Outing - February 18th & 19th
The next Centurions outing will occur on the normal weekend but we will be changing the venue at the request of the people at the Source. We were asked if we would mind putting on a couple of games at Con of the North and I told the Source people that I'd put on a couple of games that weekend. I realize that there will be a cost to these games, the entrance fee, but I hope that you will show up for one or both games.
Game #1. I will be putting on a 15mm Napoleonics game using Napoleon's Battles. I'm still working on the sides but the game will begin setup around 3:00 pm and I don't expect it to last more than four hours. All experience levels will be welcome and all figures will be provided.
Game #2. Tom Zwirn and I will be putting on a 15mm Seven Years War game using Koenig Krieg. This will be an Austrian v. Prussian game though you are welcome to show up with whatever troops you have, we'll find room for you. This game will begin setup around 10:00 am will last until we are done.
Hope to see you there. For more information about the con, see their website: http://www.conofthenorth.org
